The automation reads each one and drafts a single comparison — unit price, lead time, MOQ, freight terms, quote validity — with a link back to every source document, so nothing is a black box. The buyer checks the lines, corrects anything the extraction got wrong, and approves before a single figure enters the ERP. Choosing the winning supplier stays entirely with the buyer, because that call rests on quality history and relationships no automation should make. What happens when the AI misreads a vendor's PDF?

Your reviewer catches it at the approval gate, which is permanent by design — not a training-wheels phase we remove later. The AI's job is deliberately narrow: it only extracts text from unstructured documents like emails and quotes. All matching, calculation, and business logic is deterministic code you can audit, so the same inputs always produce the same result.
